Starting Over
Alright, so after 4 years of playing me and a friend have finally saved up enough cash for FoW armor (I know it took a long time, but neither of us farm at all) and have decided to challenge ourselves by making a new character and reaching the Forgemaster to buy our armor by the end of the summer. Getting there will be the easy part since level 20 takes like a day now, but my big concern is getting all of my titles back. My main is a Derv but I am tired of them being inefficient in most PvE situations and useless in PvP, so I am going for a core class for my armor. My Derv has quite a few titles, not as many as I could have if I farmed, but still a decent number, and trying to gain them all on new character is kind of a scary prospect. Are there any tips on what titles are the easiest to obtain and how I should go about them?

it would help if we knew what profession you are planning to make.
Generally the protectors are the easiest, followed by ss/lb. Leg surv isn't hard nowadays if you get no lag etc.
If you get the money spare, and have skill points then skill hunter is easy (although you prob won't have either just now).
Also cartographer is pretty simple too.

If your going to start a new character I would 100% reccomend you start a monk. Odds are by the time you mimic your derv's prgress you will have prolly enough ecto for 2 tormented weapons.

Seeing as how Paras and Rits were updated a while back, I think they might buff up the derv a bit in a future update. There have been several threads about it, so I assume it's kind of a big deal.
If you really want to make a new class to have obby, make it a class you'll enjoy. Getting titles with a profession you don't like would be an unpleasent experience. And make sure their obby doesn't look terrible. Necros and male paras, for example.

I would do Ritualist, since it has the best FoW armor.
Probably the only profession WORTH getting FoW armor.

Best to worst IMO:
Male:
1. Ranger, 2. Ele, 3. War, 4. Rit, 5. Sin, 6. Monk, 7. Derv, 8. Mes, 9. Necro, 10. Para
Female:
1. Rit, 2. Para, 3. Monk, 4. Mes, 5. Sin, 6. Derv, 7. Ranger, 8. Ele, 9. War, 10. Necro

Males Para Obby is there best set by far. Except maybe norn cause it actually has pants.
Anyways dont worry about PvP you can make a PvP char for that. Pick a fun class. Personally I would vote to stay away from monks, terribly boring and prone to being flamed in a group, but you will get into them easily.

Pick a profession you 1) think you'll enjoy and 2) actually like the look of Obsidian armor for
Unfortunately most Obby armor is incredibly ugly, so yeah. Try to keep that in mind as well.

Go for this first imo, don't grind through a class you don't like playing. Then you can get your FoW armor for them. Despite what most people say, what FoW armor is best is based off opinions and not hard set facts of whats "ugly" and whats not.

Well, to be honest, I think this thread went off-topic. I was a question of the easiest titles to get, now I re-read the OP, "so I am going for a core class for my armor."
So, yeah, Monk, Ranger, Warrior, Necro, Ele, or Mesmer.
